Faith

I don't think I've ever felt so excited yet utterly confused...

I trust God has a purpose for all things in my life, but I still need faith...

I know God has control over my future, but I still need faith...

I believe God will bless me with what is beyond my hopes and dreams...but I still need faith...

It's my prayer tonight, O Lord, that you give me faith to believe...

A Leader for God

My dear brothers and sisters,

I should have started blogging at the beginning of my internship at ORTV. God has surprised me almost everyday with blessings beyond my greatest imagination. I often think about sharing these experiences with you all but just haven’t found the time. I have experienced his presence so many times and have received overflowing amounts of blessings so far this summer that I couldn't help but log in and start to write everything down. I promise to do my best catching up. I'll start with this weekend though...

What an incredible 2 days! Praise the Lord! Though this is my fourth week in Taipei, this is only my second weekend in the city. I've been going back to Chia-yi for the past two weekends; once for Jean's wedding and the other to meet my family for our family trip to the south/east coast (I'll fill in more on that in entries to come, so stay tuned! : ) ) Anyhow...this weekend has just been absolutely amazing...

Saturday, was a special day for many reasons, one, being the birthday of the United States of America and two, the birthday of the Taipei Nei-Hu MRT line. The first marked the day Americans were granted freedom from the UK and became known as an independent country. The latter marked the day I was granted freedom from long and bumpy bus rides as I could now simply walk downstairs and right through the entrance of the Da-Zhi MRT station.

Though I intended to wake up early to start on my two-week load of laundry, I still slept in. At around 11, I left for my 12:00 pm date with Emily ^^" I traveled to "Tea Street" on the East side of the city by MRT. We had lunch/afternoon tea at an all-you-can-eat buffet style tea place and had a wonderful time catching up. It was so great seeing her again and hearing what she's been up to!! After shopping for a little around the area we parted ways, with promises to meet up again soon.

In the evening, I went to see the recording of "Super Idol," as Joyce's cousin Christine was given the opportunity to "PK" one of the contestants of the popular Taiwanese TV show. Ivy, Randy, another one of their cousins, Auntie Olive, and myself got a bit annoyed as the doors were supposed to open at 7:30pm, and didn't until almost 9:00pm. Christine shined for Jesus on stage as she sang "Ain't You" by Alisha Keys and won! Praise God!

Sunday, I went to church with Sandra at Glory City Bread of Life Christian Church in Bei-Tou. To tell you the truth, my mind was occupied with many other things and didn't prepare myself to worship God in his house. I have been so busy ever since I got back from my trip to the east coast, that I just didn't prepare my heart to come before God. However, God again surprised me by truly showing me his glory and his everlasting guidance in my life.

Pastor Huang talked about leadership and how God calls young leaders in this world to show people to Christ. Throughout the whole message, I kept thinking about BCCC's student group. My heart never felt so heavy for this group of young people until this worship service. I could feel God revealing his will of bringing the young Chinese students of Bloomington to him through me. God spoke to me personally through Pastor Huang's words, that despite all circumstances, he put me in BCCC's student group for a special purpose. I still can't see it right now, but through the worship service Sunday morning, God assured me that he is the leader of BCCC's student group and no one else. He just wants to use me to reach out to the lost souls of Bloomington and to mold me and help me grow spiritually. I admit I had and still have some doubts in my own abilities and in the circumstances presented, but God assured me his grace is always enough.

Ever since I got the internship at ORTV, the scholarship to come back to Taiwan, and the privilege of working in a Christian environment, getting to know more young and passionate believers, I tried to figure out why God blessed me so graciously. God showed me that it is simply because he wants me to experience him, grow in him, and prepare myself to face the battlefield that is serving him at BCCC's student group in Bloomington. His blessed me so I could bless others around me.

I never anticipated to experience God at this seemingly normal Sunday morning worship service, especially since I've been going to various different churches in my time here in Taipei. God truly showed me that he is a real God, a living God, and one that works in miraculous ways. He is calling out to you and me everyday to reach out to those still lost. Although we may not seem to notice, we are called every single day to live for him and to testify to his love for us. With shields of faith, helmets of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, how blessed we are to be warriors for Christ!
